DANG: Vehicular movement along the Ghorahi-Tulsipur road section of Dang district, which was obstructed following a fatal accident on Saturday evening, has resumed after the victims’ families struck an agreement with owners of the vehicle which had hit a moving motorcycle, claiming two lives.
The accident had occurred after a tripper (Ra 1 Ka 138) on its way to Tulsipur from Ghorahi, struck a moving motorcycle (Ra 1 Pa 5395), killing two individuals.
The deceased have been identified as Bhim Bahadur Bhandari (38) and Sher Bahadur Bhandari (46).
According to the agreement, the victims’ families, in the first phase, will get Rs 25,000 each from the vehicle’s insurance scheme. The owners of the tripper have agreed to provide Rs 475,000 each to the families of both victims by one week. Similarly, Sonapur Cement Factory will give Rs 250,000 each to both families within 15 days.
The agreement was signed in presence of the local police authority.
Locals and families of the victims had taken it to the streets demanding compensation to the bereaved families and strong action against the tripper driver.
The vehicular obstruction at the road section had halted transportation connecting Dang and other districts including Salyan and Rukum.
